Q: Where can I use my Costco membership?
A: Your membership is good at over 600 locations worldwide and online at Costco.ca. For a complete list
of locations, visit Costco.ca and then click on Locations.
Q: Why do I have to show my membership card upon entrance to the warehouse?
A: Our members pay a fee to shop at Costco. Your photo appears on the card because your membership
card can be used only by you and is nontransferable.
Q: What are Costco’s hours of operation?
A: For hours of operation go to Costco.ca, click on LOCATIONS and enter your warehouse location.
Q: Why am I asked to show my receipt as I exit the warehouse?
A: Staffing the doors is our most effective method of maintaining accuracy in inventory control. We want
to make sure that you received everything you paid for and were not overcharged or undercharged for
any item.
Q: Can I bring in a friend who is not a member?
A: You may bring up to two guests into the warehouse each time you shop, though only Costco members
may purchase items. However, your friends are always welcome to join Costco. Also, ask about our
Refer a Friend Program!
Q: Why are there no express lines?
A: The answer is twofold. First, the majority of our members typically purchase a large quantity of
products during their shopping visits to our warehouses. The average member purchases about
16 items every time he or she shops. Second, an express checkout line would increase our cost
of doing business.
Q: Why are there no dressing rooms?
A: We are trying to keep our costs as low as possible. Dressing rooms take employees to staff, as well as
floor space that could be better utilized. Our return policy states that if something doesn’t fit, just bring
it back for a full refund.
Q: How do I return merchandise?
A: If you purchase an item that is defective or with which you are not satisfied, you may return it for a full
refund. We ask that you return the merchandise:
•;within thirty ( 30) days of purchase;
•;in the original packaging;
•;with a Costco receipt.

department answers phone calls Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST.
